Imitation SmashBurger Rosemary Fries

I have a confession to make.... I am addicted to french fries! I absolutely LOVE them and would eat them with every meal if I could. SmashBurger's Rosemary Fries are my favorite (coming in at a close second are McDonald's) so instead of spending $10 every time the craving struck (because you have to get a burger too!) I decided to try my hand at my own!

Ingredients:

2-4 russet potatoes (I usually use 3 medium sized and that makes more than enough)

1 1/2 tablespoon oil (I use canola but you can also use olive or whatever you have handy)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves
1/4 teaspoon oregano (sometimes I substitute thyme here if I don't have oregano)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450°

Rinse potatoes and cut into fries.

~I had the hardest time trying to figure this out at first but after watching a few YouTube videos I think I mastered it)

Start by cutting the potato in half lengthwise.

Take one half and put it on the cutting board so the flat part is facing down.

Cut 1/4 in (or about the size of half your pinky finger) strips lengthwise.

Lay individual strips flat and cut 1/4 in fries.

Place in bowl and rinse potatoes with cold water. (It's disgusting seeing how much dirt is still on them!)

In a ziplock bag combine remaining ingredients. (When I started this recipe I didn't realize I was out of baggies so I put everything in a bowl and covered with saran wrap)

Blot potatoes with a paper towel and add to ziplock bag.

Shake bag until potatoes are all covered (about 30 seconds-1 minute)

Place on a greased cookie sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes. (Check at twenty and if still not done cook for 5 minutes longer. Cook time depends on thickness of fries)

These aren't quite as good as the real deal but they are quite tasty and definitely a lot less expensive!
