Chick-Fil-A Copy Cat Nuggets with Imitation Smash Fries and Green Beans

I don't know about you but I LOVE Chick-Fil-A! Their chicken is just so juicy and everything there doesn't really taste like fast food. Ok, well maybe it does, but more of a higher end fast food. My favorite thing and my go to menu item when I go there are there nuggets. That's why I was so excited when I found this recipe on The REAL Housewives of Riverton's site. Paired with my Imitation SmashBurger Rosemary Fries and green beans and you have one fast, easy meal that the whole family will love!

Ingredients:

1 egg

1 cup milk
2 chicken breasts (I use 2 breasts and it's plenty for the hubby, my 2 yr old and myself. If you're cooking for more you may want to add another breast or two)
1 1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 teaspoons salt (When I cook this with fries as a side dish I don't add the salt since we'll be getting plenty of sodium from the fries)
1 teaspoon pepper
3-5 tablespoons oil (for frying)

Directions:

Beat egg and milk in bowl

Cut chicken breasts into bite size pieces and let marinate in milk/egg mixture in the fridge for 2-4 hours.(Note: you don't have to let it sit for that long; but the longer you let the chicken sit in the milk and eggs the juicer it will be)

In a ziplock bag combine flour, sugar, salt and pepper. (After already letting the chicken marinade I realized I was out of ziplock bags so i just combined these ingredients in a bowl and then covered it with saran wrap to shake)

Using a slotted spoon, or fork, or your hands if you don't mind getting messy, remove chicken from milk and egg mixutre, place chicken in ziplock bag and shake like crazy! (Shaking like crazy is important... you want to make sure all the chicken is coated)

My little helper. Couldn't have done it without him! (Please ignore the crackers all over him)

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Again using a fork or slotted spoon (I wouldn't use your hands this time since you'll be close to hot oil) place chicken in oil and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.

Place chicken on a plate and blot with paper towel to remove excess grease.

Served here with fries and green beans. (Yes, they are canned green beans. I know, I know, not the healthiest but the boys like them and it's a vegetable so I figure they are better than eating no

vegetables at all)

The seal of approval :)
